After undergoing two years of treatment for lymphoma, 18-year-old Justin was ready for a magic moment. In June, Justin, his aunt and uncle and two first cousins traveled to New York City. Justin's visit was full of sight-seeing including Harlem, the Apollo Theater, Wall Street, the World Trade Center, China Town, Little Italy, Korea Town and more. Justin said the limo driver kept everyone entertained with his commentary and his driving. As Justin says, "Driving through NYC is a whole new experience!"
Justin and his family went to see August Wilson's Joe Turner Come and Gone at the historic Lincoln Center. Justin said it was a fabulous show and made up for the ball game being cancelled due to rain. Justin was even able to go backstage and meet some of the cast including Ernie Hudson (from Ghostbusters) and Latanya Richardson Jackson, wife of Samuel L. Jackson.
But Justin's favorite of his trip was his visit to the World of M&Ms. M&Ms are Justin's favorite candy, and he and his family enjoyed seeing all the specialty M&M candy, clothes, stuffed animals and other memorabilia. Justin wanted to take the big M&M home, but it wouldn't fit on the plane. This really was one “sweet” trip!
