Deionta is a vibrant 16-year-old boy from Birmingham. In 2006 Deionta was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy which has damaged his heart severely that he is currently awaiting a heart transplant. After being in the hospital for several months, he was finally put on a LVAD which allowed him to go home until time for his transplant. As soon as Deionta was out of the hospital he was looking forward to his magic moment – a shopping spree at Target.
Marsha Sprayberry, a Magic Maker for over 15 years, wanted to help make Deionta’s wish come true. When Deionta and Marsha arrived at Target, he went straight for the electronic department where he purchased a flat screen TV, guitar, camera, computer, PS3 and games! He also got clothes to exercise in as well as snacks and little goodies along the way. You would think all this shopping would tire Deionta out, but NO! He stayed up all night to play his games!
When we asked Marsha about Deionta and his wish she said, “Deionta is the most polite and appreciative kid.” Good luck Deionta with your transplant!
