November 2008
The Hoover Wal Mart went all out for this five year-old! Takia and her sister were both diagnosed with sickle cell disease as infants and Takia wished for a shopping spree.
When Takia and her Magic Maker, Robin, arrived at the Hoover Wal Mart, they were welcomed with one surprise after another. First, Takia was presented with her own special tiara – a must for any princess. As Takia moved through the store, employees gave Takia pink balloons to tie on her cart. It wasn’t long before Takia’s cart was decorated with more than two dozen balloons! In addition, Takia’s cart was full of such goodies as Dora clothes and accessories, a princess keyboard, a Sing-Along-Elmo, a princess camera and a new winter coat.
To complete the day, Takia and her parents enjoyed lunch and a princess cake while her royal servants loaded the car. It was truly a magical day for all involved.
