Magic Moment of the Month - August 2008
9 year old Justin was diagnosed February of 2007 with a rare syndrome in called Guillain-Barre Syndrome. This is a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Though Justin’s legs are now paralyzed, and he is re-learning everyday activities again, his enormous spirit has never lessened.
“He has such a good heart,” his mom says of Justin. “He is the sweetest little person, and has never given us any trouble.”
On April 11, 2008, Justin’s Magic Moment came true. He got to enjoy a shopping spree at Walmart in Selma. “I couldn’t even keep up with him!” His mom said. “He was just so happy and excited!” Justin’s favorite purchases were his laptop and digital camera. He loves taking pictures and is still enjoying all of his new gifts.
Today, Justin is getting some movement back, and beginning to walk again in his therapy sessions. His determination and hope has never given up, and he is truly an inspiration to us all. He is admired by all who get to be around him!
