The magic of Magic Moments would not be possible without the assistance of our wonderful volunteers. We depend on the time, energy, dedication and smiles of over 250 volunteers throughout the State of Alabama who help to make wishes come true. Our volunteers come from all walks of life – students to senior citizens, parents and families, and even corporate volunteer teams. These volunteers spread joy and sunshine as they grant wishes, and any one of them will tell you they receive rewards beyond measure.
Magic Moments has a variety of volunteer opportunities available year-round that can fit most anyone’s interest level and schedule:
BECOME A WISH CHAIRPERSON
Becoming a Wish Chairperson provides the greatest opportunity to be involved with the children and families. Once a magic moment has been approved, a Wish Chairperson is assigned to each wish. The Wish Chairperson serves as the liaison to the family throughout the planning and implementation of the wish. You can select the type of wish that most appeals to you – whether it is taking a child on a shopping spree, delivering a laptop computer, or seeing a family off at the airport for their trip to Disney World or another locale. You will have the unique opportunity to personally share in the joy and excitement of a magic moment.
HELP AT SPECIAL EVENTS
If you enjoy seeing an event come together from start to finish, then we have lots of opportunities for you! Our signature event, Magic Moments Night at the Circus, provides a great evening of fun for adults and kids alike. Or if you prefer, we have car shows, golf tournaments, sporting clay shoots and a variety of other events where you could provide much-needed assistance. Click here to view our upcoming events.
PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE
For those living in the Birmingham area who have strong office/clerical skills, we have many tasks that are a match for you. Whether it is performing data entry, preparing mass mailings, or helping with filing and answering the phones, we could use your able assistance in the Magic Moments office.
We have two basic volunteer groups – the Young Leaders and the Magic Makers – and both provide unique opportunities to give back to the community while making new friends at the same time!
